The Big Change

The Big Change

I remember feeling very restless those days and craving for all sorts of foods and flavours. While at work one day, I suddenly wanted to have Kung Pao Chicken with Noodles, specifically from Master Chi and a Swiss Roll thereafter from Capital Bakery, both being my favourite. I was so much at peace after having that yummy meal.

One or two days after that, I felt like having Phirni (also because it was Eid that day) and felt satiated after enjoying it completely. I remember taking it for my then pregnant friend, who’s now a mother to a very cute 10 months old daughter.

And then, may be a day or two later, when I requested my husband for a waffle while in office, he immediately responded, “Tu pregnant hai kya?”

Clueless how to respond back, we happily walked to Nik in sector 7, enjoyed the waffle only to come back and throw out all of it.. And that was it!

I tested myself the next morning with a negative!! After about 4 negatives, but my instinct saying Positive, the second Pink blushed, 7 days later. Believe me I didn’t even know which doc/clinic/hospital to go to at that time. We had just taken a call about this new chapter and in the same month..Boom!! I had heard from my fellow friends and doctors about how it can take anywhere between 2-14 months to conceive. At that moment, amongst all the butterflies, thought and feelings, all I could remember were my Nutritionist’s words.

I obviously called my then pregnant friend (the same Phirni girl) to know details about doctors etc. And while I was dancing with joy in my mind, the confusion of the home test showing positive but nothing in the USG happened.

But yes the pregnancy did get confirmed 3 days later.
