It’s 5:30 in the morning and she’s awake. I’d slept at half past 1, woke up at 3 to feed her, slept back in 30 minutes and now she’s up again! I wonder why they say ‘sleep like a baby’ when the baby actually doesn’t sleep too deep for too long. She’s in no mood to sleep after a full tummy and I’m tired, sleepy but have a thousand things to do for the day- cooking, laundry, work, baby chores, amongst a few.
I get up and make a cup of chai for myself. Ok, so I’m very particular about my chai. It can set or spoil my mood. The right amount of tea leaves and milk, else phew!!
Making that ‘just perfect’ cup of tea, enjoying it sip by sip, sitting in fresh air with my litlu is what relaxes my mind..makes my soul happy..and this is creativity for me, for creativity is to create, and to create is simply bringing my thoughts into existence, with extra dollops of love.
Creativity, for me, could also simply be re-arranging the corner of my room, with stuff from inside my home itself.
My zen corner as I call it, with music that sparks my soul and this can bring happiness to me.
Also the food that I make..a simple dish or an elaborate cuisine, making recipes that I carried forward from my mother and grandmother, tweaking them with my own understanding of flavours is creativity for me. It’s the single most important thing for me each day. Food is life for me and creating that blissful vibe is relaxation for me.
And while we’re at this, how could I forget mentioning about my passion to create Invitations and Stationery, something that gives me immense happiness and contentment. It’s when my mind relaxes after the completion of each and every project and I take a sigh of relief and relax with my cup of chai in my own sweet little way.
